New Year

 Fireworks
So, one year passed and new one begun. Let's all make this new year even better than the last one.

I spent the christmas time in Oulu, mostly watching DVDs with the projector. I can tell you that it is slightly better experience to watch movies with 92" screen and digital 5.1 -surround sounds than with the computer 15" screen and headphones. I bought the TV-series Lost Season 1 from Switzerland for about 32 euros, and I watched all 24 episodes, as it was quite interesting. In the series, a plane crashes to a remote island in the Pacific, and the survivors begin to uncover the secrets of the island. I let you watch the rest. It's worth it, believe me.

The New Year reception was somewhat untypical, as we went to the city. Usually Finnish people go to some remote cottage, usually summer cottage, to party with friends. This time spending time in the city, I managed to shoot some fireworks pretty well. You can find more pictures from this Fireworks Gallery.

I received an interesting call just before the New Year. Elektrobit might want me to start working in the United States directly after I leave from Switzerland. The position is somewhat interesting, so at the moment, we are investigating how this transfer is done the best. As I've learned from my previous experiments, nothing is sure until it happens, so I'm not raising my hopes too high. Still this might be a nice occasion to work in the USA, so I'm looking forward how this case turns out. If everything goes as planned, I might have to start writing a USA-story instead of Swizerland-story quite soon, in 1 or 2 months. Until that, I continue working here in Switzerland quite normally.

Have you seen the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? I have. It was pretty much a children's version of The Lord of the Rings. I don't say it was not good, I just say that it should have had more in it to make it a real movie, not just some fantasy fairy tale for children. I got the book including all the Narnia books as a christmas present. I've now read two and a half of the books. I think I will read all of them in quite near future.

Next time, I hope I can tell you if I'm going to move to the States or not.
